Tonk (Rajasthan), 17 Feb 2014: Women in even small towns and villages are now rising against the growing crimes against them and also against female foeticide. Such growing awareness was noticed in Tonk city of Rajasthan where women from different walks of life gathered on Friday at one billion rising program organized by Tarraqi I Foundation.
Inaugurating the program, Zahir Aalam, coordinator of the program, said the increasing violence and aggression on women have now become an issue of discussion. To stop this curse, everyone should come out. Najma Naseem (retired lecturer) said that women should now think in broad way and create awareness among them. Women will have to come forward to claim their rights. The program was also addressed by advocate Praveen Rana, Narendra Pareek, Tonk City Police SHO, Ziyaul Islam, Mohammad Khan, Saiful Islam.
